On October 18, 2020, Prof. Rujin Huang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences won the "Special Prize of China Youth Science and Technology Award" at the award ceremony of the 16th China Youth Science and technology award, to commend him for his great achievements and outstanding contributions in scientific research.
Prof. Rujin Huang has long been engaged in the study on geochemical process of organic aerosols. He has made a series of achievements in the composition, source and secondary formation mechanism of organic aerosols. He took the lead in carrying out comprehensive and accurate tracing of chemical fingerprints of organic aerosols, revealed for the first time the important contribution and formation mechanism of secondary organic aerosols to heavy haze pollution in winter, and proposed that controlling volatile organic compounds is the key pathway to control haze.
